JEFFERSONVILLE, IN (WAVE) – A swimming pool in southern Indiana has reopened after a test for E. Coli came back positive.

The pool at the Jeffersonville Aquatic Center reopened on Wednesday, July 9 after a test for E.Coli came back positive on Thursday July, 3.

The Director of Jeffersonville Parks and Recreation said ducks and geese that landed in the pool before the swimming season started were likely the cause of the feces borne bacteria.

The city shut down the pool for cleaning over the weekend. No illnesses were reported by visitors who used the pool.
