LMPD: Victim, suspect in home invasion shot and killed each other

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Two people who were mortally wounded during a violent home invasion shot and killed each other, according to Louisville Metro Police.

Investigators said a victim of the home invasion was shot by a suspect. The victim returned fire, killing the suspect before dying of his wounds.

One of the deceased has been identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office as 29-year-old Keevin Hayden. He died of multiple gunshot wounds. It was not immediately clear whether Hayden was the victim or the perpetrator.

The incident happened around 8 a.m. on July in the 5300 block of Red Oak Lane in Louisville's Newburg neighborhood.

Police said an 8-year-old child inside the home when the incident happened was not physically harmed.

Detectives are searching for two other suspects in the crime. Anyone with information about the incident should call LMPD's anonymous tip line at 502-574-LMPD (5673).

    The mother of two-year-old William Roberts took her eyes off her son for a couple minutes Saturday afternoon, according to police. The toddler disappeared in a creek in Borden, Indiana around 230 p.m.
