LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A woman in her 70s who died after she was hit by a vehicle while trying to cross Dixie Highway Tuesday night has been identified.

According to Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Rita Taylor, Dorothy Locke, 77, died at University of Louisville Hospital of multiple blunt force injuries sustained when she was hit by the vehicle.

Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman Dwight Mitchell said a preliminary investigation showed Locke was trying to cross Dixie Highway near Greenwood Road when she was hit by a yellow Hyundai Accent that was traveling northbound.
