LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A Kroger employee admitted to using fraudulent gift cards to purchase merchandise worth $3000 after he faked returns by customers, according to court records.

Zachary Stevenson told Kroger loss prevention that he would scan items worth between $25 and $200 as if they were returned by customers and put the credit onto gift cards for his own use, records say.
