LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Here are 10 things Kentuckiana will be talking about today:

  1. Weather - Christie Dutton says we will have a beautiful start to the weekend with plenty of sunshine and warm temperatures.
  2. 3rd Street accident - Two women were killed in a single vehicle accident in south Louisville Thursday evening. Police believe the driver lost control of the vehicle, went over the easement and into a ditch. 
  3. East end break-ins - Louisville Metro police are asking for the community's help to identify a man and a woman suspected of breaking into vehicles, stealing credit cards and using them at area businesses
  4. LMDC officer charged - A Louisville Metro Corrections officer has been charged in Jeffersonville City Court, after driving his vehicle through the Jeffersonville Overlook in May. 
  5. Hotel tax - The convention center in downtown Louisville would receive major upgrades paid for with an extra 1 percent hotel room tax, under a plan the Metro Council is considering. 
  6. Floyd shooting range - A Lanesville resident wants to turn crop and grazing land over to SWAT teams, for target and tactical practice, but neighbors are worried about noise and safety issues. 
  7. Emaciated dog - A severely emaciated dog is receiving care after he was found wandering a Louisville neighborhood. Arrow Fund officials said Hank is extremely weak and will need prolonged care. He is being closely monitored. 
  8. Homearama - Builders at Homearama 2014 in Shakes Run say the market is definitely on its way back. Homearama opens to the public Saturday morning July 12 from 10 am to 9:30 pm. It runs through July 27
  9. Lebowski Fest - The 13th annual Lebowski Fest returns to Louisville as fans celebrate the cult classic film The Big Lebowski. Check the schedule on the Lebowski Fest website
  10. Blues, Brews & BBQ - The Four Roses Bourbon Louisville Blues, Brews & BBQ Festival returns to Water Tower Park for its 17th consecutive year, but the first year for the newly-added Brews Tasting Area.
