"The Intentional Parenting Plan"

The Intentional Parenting Plan (TIPP) challenges parents to think and  plan for their child's life. Covering eight areas of parenting, parents are asked to respond to questions that help them clarify what they want for the child. The purpose of completing the plan is for parents to be able to visualize the image that they want for the child. Through examining their thoughts about character, image, health and wellness, home life, education, finances, and the world, parents are asked to develop a written plan (included in the book) for the child. This plan will guide parents in the growth and development of the child.

Your Presence Is Requested is a challenge to parents and communities to become involved positively in the life and education of a child. It is a collection of essays on parenting and education that promotes child-centered teaching and learning. Every child needs and deserves an advocate and someone who cares for and supports them. These essays help parents and caregivers think about and plan for the life changing experience available through education. Using personal experiences as a parent and educator, Dr. Veda Pendleton McClain shares information from her education process as well as that of her children. She provides timely insight into the issues plaguing our education system from multiple perspectives. She also offers achievable sensible solutions to these issues and examines what each of us can do daily to promote the well being of a child. This is a must read for parents and educators alike.

Both books are available at Carmichael's Bookstore, A Reader's Corner, amazon.com, the Kindle Reader and vedamcclain.com.
