According to an arrest warrant, on May 10, Swango told told the officers he was at the seminary in order to find a student there who many have information about a Henderson meth lab fire. Swango was wearing a KSP shirt and had blue lights in his car.

On May 27, an officer interviewed Swango at his home. He produced a badge, continuing his impersonation. The interviewer discovered the badge was fake and that Swango had the blue lights installed in a vehicle owned by his company, Forensic Fire Investigations Bureau.

Swango is being charged with impersonating a peace officer and improper use of blue lights.
