Dogs rescued from western KY in need of foster homes

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Ten of the 68 dogs rescued from a home in western Kentucky are now in Louisville and in need of foster homes.

On July 11 several Chinese Crested and more than 50 Chihuahuas were transported to the New Albany Floyd County Animal Shelter using the shelters Pets Are Worth Saving, or P.A.W.S., unit.

Tuesday, 10 of the Chihuahuas were taken to the Kentucky Humane Society where they will receive medical care and behavior assessments.

According to KHS, some of the dogs appear to be nervous and fearful. KHS said the dogs will need time in foster homes to gain confidence and learn to accept new people before they can be adopted.
