Bloomberg: GE attempting to sell appliance business

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A report suggests General Electric may be looking to sell its Louisville based appliances business. According to Bloomberg.com, the company is in talks right now with potential acquirers.

This isn't the first time the company has tried to sell its century-old household appliance division. The most recent attempt was in 2008.

Close to 6,000 people work at GE's Appliance Park on Buechel Bank Road.

A GE spokesperson declined to comment on the report.
