2 arrested after 3 banks robbed in less than 2 hours

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Two arrests have been made after three banks were robbed in a span of a little more than an hour Wednesday.

According to Louisville Metro police, around 1 p.m. a man gave the teller a note demanding money at the Fifth Third Bank, located at the intersection of 4th Street and Liberty Street. One hour later another man handed the teller a note at Chase Bank on Jefferson Street, between 4th and 5th Streets. Then 15 minutes later, the PNC located at the intersection of 5th Street and Liberty Street.

Wednesday afternoon police arrested Darrell Harris Sr., 40, and charged him with robbery in connection to Fifth Third Bank.

Larry Bernard Sutton, 54, was also arrested and charged with two counts of robbery in connection to PNC Bank and Chase Bank.

LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell said officers are investigating whether Harris and Sutton were working together, “It's too early to determine that at this point. That very well could be the case. Again, we're in the early stages of the investigation.”

Police said they are not searching for any additional suspects in the robberies.
