LMPD continues to search for East End car break-in suspects

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Louisville Metro Police continue to look for two people accused of dozens of recent car break-ins in East Louisville. Most recently the burglaries have occurred in the Lyndon area at A.B. Sawyer Park, the Lyndon baseball fields, the Northeast YMCA and E.P. Tom Sawyer Park. The suspects could also be linked to break-ins in Middletown, Phoenix Hill, and the Highlands.

The suspect is described as a white male, 20s to 30s, stands between 5’ 10” and 6’ tall and weighs 190 to 210 pounds. The man has a very noticeable tattoo on his left forearm and has been operating a black Dodge Durango, possible a 1999 model. A woman is believed to accompany the person of interest wanted for fraudulent credit card use and theft.

Officers responded to nearly 20 smash and grab crimes on Father's Day last month. Since then the break-ins haven't stopped. Police say the target areas are recreational facilities. They've responded to E.P. Tom Sawyer Park, Douglass Hills Swimming Pool, Crosby Park and tennis courts along Elite Drive.

In many cases the victims were about 40 feet away from their car when the break ins happened.
