Suspect arrested in I-65 chase identified

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The name of the man who lead police on an interstate chase has been released.

An arrest report says Joseph A. Oberhansley, 33, of Jeffersonville, IN, is charged with disorderly conduct after he fled from Jeffersonville officers and came across the Kennedy Bridge into Kentucky.

Oberhansley was arrested early July 22 after stopping his car in the middle of Interstate 65 south near the Watterson Expressway I-264). Louisville Metro police said Oberhansley ignored commands to get out of the car, but when he did he began biting his wrist and threatened suicide. Officers used a taser on Oberhansley to t help get him into custody.

After treatment at University Of Louisville Hospital, Oberhansley was booked into Louisville Metro Corrections. At the current time it is unknown what charges Oberhansley is facing in Clark County.
