After being taken to St. Matthews Police headquarters for questioning, Bowman was shown images from surveillance video of the suspect. He said he was at the store, but was just looking and denied using the credit card. According to police, the stolen credit card was also used at three other Jefferson Mall stores - Dillard's, Macy's and Finish Line. The purchases totaled $957.60.

Bowman was asked about the items in the bag and told the detective he had the Lego's for several days, but couldn't explain where the Cross pen sets came from. Bowman later admitted he had stolen the Lego's from Toys R Us and the pen sets from Office Depot.

The arrest report says Bowman approached several people asking them to return the merchandise for him because he didn't have identification and needed the cash.

Bowman has been charged with three counts of theft by unlawful taking, one count each of fraudulent use of a credit card, forgery and unlawful access to a computer. he is also charged with unlawful transaction with a minor after telling police he had been with a juvenile during the time frame the crimes were committed.
