GREENE COUNTY, IN (WAVE) - Evidence indicates that a man accused of murder waited in the victim’s driveway, shot him as he returned home and raped a woman inside the house, Indiana State Police said.

According to a release on Friday, Jason Lee Caldwell of Solsberry is charged with the murder of David Lamm, also of Solsberry. Detectives also believe Caldwell raped a woman inside the house after killing Lamm, the release said.

Police say Lamm, 54, was killed sometime after dark July 18. His body was found the next day.

Credit cards, weapons, prescription medications and a 2008 Jeep Commander were stolen from the home, police said.

Caldwell, 35, was captured July 21. Another person, 41-year-old Kevin Vern Caldwell, was taken into custody the day before. He was also considered a person of interest in the case. It is unclear if the two are related.
