LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The Louisville Metro Police Department has released surveillance photos of two men who held up a fast food restaurant and pistol whipped an employee in east Louisville early Tuesday morning.

The men seen holding up the McDonald's at 1100 S. Hurstbourne Parkway are dressed in dark clothing, similarly to the men who have held up other fast food restaurants in the area in recent weeks.

"Nobody has been seriously injured but these suspects have shown a propensity to display violence in these holdups, including firing a shot in each of these holdups into the ceiling of the business," Lt. Jennifer Coe said.

Three employees have been hurt during the robberies.

Police said three other armed robberies may be connected to the July 29 holdup. The previous holdups include:

July 4, 8:45 a.m.: Wendy's at Hurstbourne Parkway and I-64 in Jeffersontown
July 16, 6 a.m.: Dairy Queen in Middletown
July 23, 2:40 a.m.: McDonald's at Preston Highway and Indian Trail

"The way the holdups are committed, the shot being fired in all except for Wendy's, a employee struck with a postol - we just believe they're all connected at this time," Sgt. Eric Black said.

Detectives are reminding fast food workers to be aware of their surroundings and to lock the door in the early morning hours before the restaurant is open.
