Kentucky State Fair seeks temporary workers

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Looking for a way to make some extra cash? The Kentucky State Fair needs temporary workers for this year's fair, which runs from August 14 to 24 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. Hiring begins on August 4.

More than 750 temporary workers are needed for positions that include ticket sellers, gate attendants, maintenance, groundskeeping, housekeeping and tram drivers. Wages start at $7.50 an hour.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and provide proper identification, such as a photo ID and a social security card, to verify work eligibility. Applicants must apply in person.

Here are the dates, hours and locations applications will be accepted:

Kentucky Exposition Center, South Wing Center
  • Monday, August 4: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 5: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday, August 6 to Friday, August 8: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Employment Trailer, Gate 4 of the Kentucky Exposition Center off Crittenden Drive
  • Saturday, August 9: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Monday, August 11: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 12: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday, August 13 and Thursday, August 14: 6 a.m. to midnight
  • Friday, August 15: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 16: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Sunday, August 17 to Friday, August 22: 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 23: 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Sunday, August 24: 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
