INDIANAPOLIS, IN (WAVE) - They say lightning never strikes the same place twice, but apparently luck does. An Indianapolis man has claimed his second $1 million Hoosier Lottery prize in fewer than three months.

Robert Hamilton claimed his first $1 million prize on April 28. He was on his way to a conference when he stopped at a store in Jasonville an hour-and-a-half southwest of Indianapolis and purchased the winning ticket. He snagged his more recent win at an Indianapolis Speedway.

"It's the icing on the cake," Hamilton said on July 22 when he claimed his second million.

Hamilton said he used his first million to pay off all his financial obligations, buy a home -- which he and his wife Donna haven't moved into yet -- take a beach vacation, purchase a truck for his father and invest in his business.

"After he won the first time, I told him he could buy a motorcycle if he hit it again," said Donna.

That's exactly what her husband plans to do.

Hamilton said, despite two major windfalls, he has no plans to slow down on the work front. In fact, he said he is grateful for the opportunity to purchase new equipment to further grow his business.

The Hamiltons insisted their winnings will not change their lives too much or go to their heads.

"We're just everyday, normal people," said Donna.

Hamilton won both times playing the Hoosier Lottery's $120 Million Cash Spectacular Scratch-Off.

Lottery officials said the odds of winning a $1 million top prize on the game are one in more than 2 million.
