LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Officers arrested two men who were pushing a car containing guns and drug paraphernalia down the street, and now investigators believe one of the suspects had stolen a car and committed an armed robbery days before.

Court records say 35-year-old Ruairi Hanlon (sometimes spelled Hancon) admitted to stealing a woman's car at gunpoint and robbing the Circle K at 8801 S. 3rd Street Road on July 29.

On July 31, Hanlon and 31-year-old Eric Biltz were pushing a car near the intersection of Dover Rd and Martin Ave when officers stopped to see if they needed help, according to their arrest reports. When the officers turned on their lights, both men leaned in the car and appeared to be hiding something, police reported.

Officers say they found a handgun, a shotgun and a scale used for measuring drugs in the car. The report also says that they found meth in Hanlon’s pocket.

Hanlon is charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is due in court Aug. 1.

Biltz is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 11.
