Connection to fast food robberies unclear after U.S. Marshals make arrests

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - An arrest made by the U.S. Marshals Task Force Monday afternoon may not be related to a recent string of fast food robberies despite earlier indications

WAVE 3 News has confirmed U.S. Marshals have arrested two people in connection with a Louisville Metro Police Department case. A source told WAVE 3 News the suspects are wanted for a string of fast food restaurant robberies in the Louisville Metro area.

As of 3:15 p.m. on Monday, LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell said he had no information about any arrests in the case.

According to a MetroSafe supervisor, two people were arrested after 2 p.m. in the Hikes Point area following a traffic stop.

During the month of July, armed robberies were committed at the following fast food restaurants in Louisville:
  • Wendy's on Hurstbourne Parkway on July 4
  • Dairy Queen in Middletown on July 16
  • McDonald's on Preston Highway at Indian Trail on July 23
  • Hardee's on Taylorsville Road in Jeffersontown on July 25
  • McDonald's on Hurstbourne Parkway on July 29
