LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - We're less than a month away from the Cards taking on the Hurricanes in game one of the 2014 Louisville football season.
This week the Cards opened practice with the freshman and new comers in the morning and the veterans and upperclassmen in the afternoon. Freshman quarterback Reggie Bonnafon showed off some of his skills and he's happy to have a new group of receivers to throw to this year.
“Oh these guys are legit you know, like I've been throwing with them all summer, but today I actually saw them making some plays, we haven't really gone against DB's that much but I can tell some of the guys are great,” said Bonnafon.
Head Coach Bobby Petrino spoke on the Cards starting quarterback Will Gardner, “Will showed a lot of good things but he wasn't as consistent and as accurate as he was at the end of spring ball, so I think offensively our timing is a little bit off right now in our throwing and catching.”
Junior running back Corvin Lamb is back on the field after tearing his left ACL last season against Ohio.
“I still think I'm the fastest guy on the team hands down,” exclaimed Lamb.
The Cards open against Miami on Labor Day September 1.
