Fire damages Mt. Washington apartment

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Two apartment units were damaged after a fire started in the building Thursday evening.

According to Bullitt County dispatchers, a fire was reported in the second story of the Youngstown Apartment complex in Mount Washington at 7:40 p.m.

Firefighters entered the building and were able to gain control of the fire in about 10 minutes before flames spread to other units.

Everyone inside the apartments were able to escape safely, but two units did show signs of smoke, fire and water damage. The Red Cross is assisting the residents who lived in those units.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
