Moose Tracks to give away free ice cream during 10K Scoops Challenge

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – You can eat a free scoop of ice cream and help out a local charity at the same time.

Denali Flavors, the creator of Moose Tracks ice cream, is teaming up with the Salvation Army for the 10,000 Scoops Challenge.

All you have to do is show up at Fourth Street Live! between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13 and get a free scoop of ice cream!

Each scoop represents a $1 donation to the Salvation Army to support programs like the Angel Tree program.

Director of Community Relations for The Salvation Army David Yarmuth said, "It's a tremendous gift from an organization outside the community. I think it really underscores the importance of having not only great community partners within the Louisville community, but also those outside that support the Salvation Army and its mission."

WAVE 3 News Anchor Dawne Gee will take a break from her vacation to do a little scooping from 2 to 2:30 p.m.
