Louisville community members gather in support of Ferguson

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Members of the Louisville community gathered to show solidarity and support for the Ferguson, Missouri community Thursday evening.

The event, held on the sidewalk outside of Metro Hall, was organized by Metro Councilwoman Attica Scott.

Some who attended held candles and signs in memory of police brutality victims. Dozens of others participated in a National Moment of Silence.

Ferguson has been in a state of unrest since the Saturday, Aug. 9 when 18-year-old Michael Brown, was shot and killed by an officer.

Witnesses say Brown was unarmed at the time of the shooting.
