FINDLAY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A Detroit man is facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers say they seized 2 pounds of heroin, worth approximately $136,000 following a traffic stop in Hancock County.

The patrol says troopers stopped a 2014 Ford Contour, with Virginia registration, for a speed violation on Interstate 75 southbound, near milepost 159, at 12:49 a.m. on August 17. Troopers say criminal indicators were observed and a Findlay Police Department drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle.

The patrol says troopers found the two pounds of heroin under the air filter in the engine compartment.

The driver, Christopher Triplett, 42, of, Detroit, Mich., was incarcerated in the Hancock County Jail and charged with possession of heroin, a first-degree felony. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison and up to a $20,000 fine.
