Family of driver killed in tanker truck crash speaks out

FRANKLIN, TN (WSMV) -

The family of a truck driver killed in last Friday's tanker truck crash and fire spoke out for the first time Tuesday.

In a statement, the family of Bobby Bobo said he was a great man, father and grandfather.

Bobo was killed when the tanker truck he was driving hit the Peytonsville Road bridge on Interstate 65. The resulting fire damaged the bridge, and another one under construction, beyond repair.

"This is about more than a bridge," Bobo's family said in the statement. "A bridge can be rebuilt, but a human life cannot."

The family thanked everyone for their prayers and acts of kindness.
