LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Plans to transform a vacant lot in downtown Louisville into a pop-up plaza and beer garden were announced Tuesday.

From Sept. 19 to Oct. 25, the temporary plaza, called Resurface, will be set up on a portion of West Main Street.

Mayor Greg Fischer said, “It's a temporary project, that we think is going to draw people from all over the city to the central business district to see what's happening and to experience our city from a different perspective.”

The vacant lot, which was previously proposed for development as the Museum Plaza Project, will feature art, music, movies and craft beer.

Volunteers will be needed to help transform the space and mange the event. For more information on volunteering, click here.
