Clarksville installing cameras along Ashland Park

CLARKSVILLE, IN – Some major security changes are coming to Clarksville's Ashland Park along the Ohio River.

Up to 10 thermal-imaging and high resolution cameras are expected to be installed along a more than four mile stretch of the Ohio River in Clarksville by the start of the year.

The cameras will allow the Clarksville Police Department to search for potential security threats while assisting the Clarksville Fire Department in locating potential drowning victims.

The cameras are being paid for with a U.S. Department of Homeland Security Grant totaling nearly $240,000.

Clarksville representatives said the project will be bid out.
