JEFFERSONVILLE, IN (WAVE) - More details have been learned about the crash involving two school buses in Jeffersonville.

On the afternoon of Aug. 8, two buses taking students home from Parkview Middle School crashed into each other at the intersection of Crestview and Brigham Avenue. A total of 22 middle school students and two adults were taken to area hospitals.

Witnesses told police it appeared the driver of one of the buses could not stop and hit the back of the other bus. The collision knocked the bus that was hit into the street where it collided with a car.

A preliminary police report obtained by WAVE 3 News found the brakes of the first bus were working just fine. Toxicology reports are still pending but police do not suspect alcohol or drugs were involved.

A spokeswoman for Greater Clark County Schools says disciplinary action will be considered in the case.
