LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Our "Income Gap" editorial this week saluting the interim President of Kentucky State University for cutting his salary to pay for raises for 24 other employees at the school received plenty of feedback.
Allen Gibson wrote: "Great gesture of appreciation for his fellow workers."
Jonathan Wahl chimed in: "He sets the bar for administrators and executives both inside and outside of academia."
Ida Easley replied: "If our Congressional leadership would be that caring our country would be better served."
Keith Jacobs added: "I'd rather see someone do that than try to get a raise for themselves by cutting salaries of the employees which happens far too often."
Sharon K. Murphy Bayens called Raymond Burse "a good man with a huge heart that knows how to share!"
But Sharrie Cannon countered, saying "If he can cut $90,000 of his own salary he is making entirely too much."
And our "College Loan Payments" editorial got this response from Steve Meredith: "The government should offer interest-free loans to all students who pay the price and do what is necessary to better themselves."
