Suspect leads police on 100 MPH chase after theft

One person is in custody and another at large after leading police on a high-speed chase from Indiana to Ohio.

A man was caught stealing fencing equipment Monday from a Lawrenceburg company on U.S. 50 around 4 p.m. The suspect, who was driving a U-Haul truck, then led officers on chase that reached speeds of 100 miles per hour, according to authorities.

The driver crashed the truck about ten miles away in North Bend, Ohio and then fled on foot. The passenger of the truck was arrested.

Authorities with canine units were searching for the driver near Harrison State Park.

The suspect remains at large and Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Neil says they will continue to investigate the incident.
