ATLANTA, Aug. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Good2Go®, specialists in minimum coverage auto insurance, announced that their Cell Phone Safety Discount is now available in Arizona. Eligible drivers can receive this discount by simply installing a qualifying text blocking device in their vehicle and providing a copy of the receipt as proof of purchase via email, fax, or postal service. Text blockers are hardware/software that disable certain functions of cell phones such as texting, email, and Internet browsing while a vehicle is in motion. Only essential call functionalities are permitted such as 911 emergency calls.

While officials recognize the dangers of texting and driving, Arizona is one of five states that has not enacted a statewide ban in texting while driving. However, it is still illegal for school bus drivers and truckers to text and drive.

The cities of Phoenix and Tucson have however implemented their own city codes against texting while driving. The penalty for texting and driving in these two cities is $100, and $250 if the act caused an accident.

Good2Go® supports Arizona's efforts in preventing distracted driving. Good2Go® launched the Cell Phone Safety Discount to help save lives and encourage drivers to stop texting and driving. In addition to fines and stricter state laws, Good2Go® believes in rewarding safe drivers for taking the extra step by installing a text blocking device and making the roads safer for everyone.
