LEXINGTON, KY (WAVE) - A University of Kentucky cheerleader was released from a hospital Saturday night following an injuring during the UK football game at Commonwealth Stadium.
Sophomore Brooke Gibbs fell late in the fourth quarter of the Cats' 59-14, season-opening defeat of Tennessee-Martin.
She was treated at UK Chandler Hospital and released.
A hush fell over the crowd after she fell, and a medical crew worked for several minutes to stabilize Gibbs and place her on a board before carting her off.
As she was being wheeled off the field, Gibbs flashed a thumbs-up sign to the crowd, prompting a full applause.
After being released from the hospital, Gibbs said she can't wait to get back to being 100 percent so she can re-join her teammates.
