Arizona trail detoured for Belknap Fire

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Those who spent the weekend in Northern Arizona might have seen the smoke from a wildfire that's putting a damper on hiking in the high country.

The Belknap fire has grown to 307 acres and is burning south of the Grand Canyon near Tusayan.

Fire officials said lightning sparked it last week, but sections of the Arizona trail had to be closed and hikers detoured.

Right now, smoke from parts of the Grand Canyon National Park is visible.
