Learn about Egg Freezing with Anitha S. Nair, M.D. on September 4 or join Joseph Doyle, M.D. online on September 11.

Washington, DC (PRWEB) September 03, 2014

Shady Grove Fertility is offering two complimentary events for women to learn about egg freezing beginning on Thursday, September 4 when women interested in egg freezing can meet Anitha S. Nair, M.D. and join Joseph Doyle, M.D. to receive answers to questions via a live webcast.

The decision to freeze one's eggs may vary but for Melanie, an egg freezing patient, the choice was easy, I knew I wanted to have a family one day, so given the option I would rather use my own eggs and freezing my eggs now became a no brainer.

On Thursday, September 4, women throughout Washington, DC will have the opportunity to meet and discuss egg freezing at Shady Grove Fertilitys Wine and Freeze seminar hosted by Dr. Anitha Nair at our K Street office.

Dr. Nair will explain the reasons egg freezing has become a more available over the past few years, because vitrification, a flash freezing process approved by the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) in 2009, made egg freezing a dependable way for women to preserve their fertility. Prior to vitrification, egg freezing was unreliable as the slow-freeze technology created ice crystals inside the eggs, thus ruining them for future use.

While vitrification does increase success rates, there are personal factors that can also affect egg freezing. Shady Grove Fertilitys doctors and staff thoroughly educate patients about age, BMI, and family history in order to help patients have optimal chances for success using frozen eggs in the future.

As fertility treatment options evolve to provide women with more roads to motherhood, Shady Grove Fertility is committed to making treatment accessible to more women by creating and offering unique patient protocols, programs, and financial options.

With these two events, first, the Wine and Freeze evening seminar where women can gather in a casual environment and learn more about the medical advancements that make egg freezing a viable choice for many, and the online seminar providing access to physician advice from the comfort of your own home, each is an excellent first step in learning about this exciting new opportunity that many women have already embraced.
