3 killed in PRP crash identified

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – The identities of three people who were killed in a crash in Pleasure Ride Park have been released.

Gary Miller, 36, Stevie Smith, 43, and Heather Smith, 35 died of multiple blunt force injuries in the Sept. 28 crash at the intersection of Lower Hunter's Trace and Greenbelt Highway, Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Larry Carroll said.

Louisville Metro police said Nathan Browning, 33, was speeding in a white Suburban west on Lower Hunters Trace when he ran a traffic light and crashed into the Ford Contour driven by Miller. 

Browning was not injured in the crash. He was taken into custody and charged with three counts of second degree manslaughter, four counts of wanton endangerment and one count criminal mischief. 

Carroll said Miller, Stevie Smith and Heather Smith were all wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Funeral arrangements for all three are pending.
