What is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is the result of the tendons swelling inside the carpal tunnel. The swelling puts pressure on the median nerve which in turn causes pain, numbness, and/or tingling in the hand, fingers, and/or forearm.
What Causes Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
Repetitive motion of the hands is most often what causes carpal tunnel syndrome. The following are a few examples of activities that trigger carpal tunnel syndrome:
- Using the computer
- Using tools
- Playing the piano
