INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Indiana Department of Education has taken down its website again after it was hacked for the second time in four days.
The department issued a news release saying the website was hacked Thursday afternoon and its information technology staff has taken the website down temporarily.
The website also was hacked Monday, briefly taken offline and back online that day.
The department says there's no sign that any data hosted on the website was compromised in either takeover.
The Indianapolis Star reports that before it was taken down Thursday the website showed a message: "SURPRISED WE ARE HERE AGAIAN ??? THE LAST TIME THIS SITE WAS DOWN NO PATCH WAS DONE."
Altman told the Star on Monday that it would take time to complete a patch to deter further takeovers.
