Light Up Louisville tree on its way downtown

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - One of the two trees to be used for Light Up Louisville has been cut down and will begin its journey to downtown Louisville.

The main tree will be placed at 4th and Main streets and a second tree will go up at 4th and Liberty streets in time for the Nov. 28 Light Up Louisville event that officially signals the beginning of Christmas season in the Derby City.

Danny and Linda Blaufuss, of Deering Heights, are donating one of the trees, and Wolford and Peggy Pressburger, of Douglass Hills Estates in East Louisville, are donating the other.

One tree will be transported to its downtown location between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Thursday, and the second tree will be transported during the same hours on Friday.
