BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Freshman James Blackmon Jr. pumped in 21 points as Indiana held on late to beat Lamar 85-72 on Saturday night in a game that was closer than expected.
In his second game eligible following a four-game suspension, freshman Emmitt Holt got his first action of the season for the Hoosiers. Despite limited minutes, Holt showed his potential to be a low-post presence for Indiana (4-0) this season. Holt sparked a 7-0 run by the Hoosiers in the first half, and scored four points, gathered two rebounds, and recorded a steal.
Indiana extended its home winning streak in non-conference games to 43 games.
The loss drops Lamar to 1-3 on the season, with their lone victory coming against LSU-Alexandria, an NAIA team.
