SIMPSONVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A suspected drunken driver faces numerous charges after allegedly leading troopers on a chase that topped 100 mph and ended when the he crashed his pickup truck into his own home.
Kentucky State troopers were called to Shumaker Drive in Simpsonville on Monday night and upon their arrival, Justin Cottrell fled the scene in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 60 in Shelby County.
Cottrell, 31, sped up to 101 mph, according to a KSP release issued Tuesday.
He eventually returned to his home in Simpsonville, where he crashed into the front of the house, the release said.
Crews had to extricate Cottrell from his pickup truck, and then he was arrested.
Cottrell faces charges of DUI, reckless driving, evading police and speeding. other charges are pending.
