New York, New York (WAVE) - #4 UofL got 26 points from Terry Rozier and 24 from Chris Jones, both career-highs in a 94-74 win over Indiana on Tuesday night in Madison Square Garden in the Jimmy V Classic.
All-American Montrezl Harrell added 21 and became the Cards all-time dunker with 7 slams. He has now has 164 in his career, two more than Pervis Ellison.
The Cards jumped out to a 44-31 lead late in the first half, but the Hoosiers closed the half on a 10-2 run to get within five at the break at 46-41.
Indiana opened the second with 9 straight points. James Blackmon, Jr, gave them a 47-46 lead with an 18 foot jumper and Yogi Ferrell made it 50-46 with a three-pointer. Blackmon led the Hoosiers with 18, Ferrell finished with 13.
The Cards responded with a 10-0 spurt, capped by a Rozier three, to take the lead for good at 58-52.
Jones added a career-high 9 rebounds and a career-high 6 assists to his career-high point total.
Wayne Blackshear also stuffed the stat sheet, finishing with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Harrell pulled down 11 rebounds.
The Cards (8-0) are back in action on Sunday night at 6 p.m. hosting North Carolina-Wilmington, coached by former UofL assistant Kevin Keatts.
Indiana (7-2) hosts Grand Canyon on Saturday at 5 p.m. in Assembly Hall.
