Bardstown police field testing body cameras

BARDSTOWN, KY (WAVE) - Body cameras have made their way to another town in the Bluegrass.

Bardstown police are field testing different camera models to find the best fit for the department.

Police Chief Rick McCubbin said, "They've got them from small to large, to goes on glasses to hangs on your lapel to goes on your shirt. All kinds. So right now we're in the process of trying to find one that is good, good quality but that is conducive."

McCubbin said the department is working with city council as well as the federal government to fund future equipment. He estimates fitting his entire department with body cameras will cost about $30,000.
