LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - It was a tragedy that lead Antoya Brandon and her family to Louisville. After the murder of her sister in Nashville the family packed up and left the pain and bad memories behind, but not the bad luck.

“She keeps having car trouble and now her son who just turned one, he's had a leg diagnosis to where his legs are turned in so he has to have braces,” said Emily Fosse, Brandon's boss and friend.

At $800 a fitting one-year-old Peyton will have to have his braces re-fitted each time his little foot grows.

“She's got three children, two others besides him that are small and they just moved,” said Fosse. “Her mother just got a job, which is a blessing.”

It is a blessing, but for Brandon and her young family it could mean another expense if they lose Grandma and have to go to daycare.

After learning more about Brandon, we decided to Pass the Cash to her. We found her working hard for her money and pretty surprised.

“Antoya I wrote Dawne Gee and Pass the Cash a couple of weeks ago,” began Fosse, “I've got $400 to Pass the Cash and I need you to hold out your hand.”

Brandon was not only surprised, but very grateful.

“I'm definitely shocked, oh God it's too much,” she said.

We are always happy to Pass the Cash but little Peyton needed more. So I called my friends at Kosair. For almost 100 years their primary mission has been to protect the health and well being of little ones.

With a little help from my friends at Kosair Charities Peyton's life will be changed as a Kosair kid.

A big thank you to Kosair from Pass the Cash and all the thousands of families they help here in WAVE Country.
