On the run KY teens spotted panhandling in FL

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Two Grayson County teenagers suspected in a series of crimes were spotted panhandling in Florida, according to NBC News.

The Grayson County Sheriff's Office said Dalton Hayes, 18, and Cheyenne Phillips, 13, have been on the run since Jan. 3 and are accused of stealing at least two vehicles.

One of those vehicles, a 2006 red Toyota Tacoma was recovered Jan. 15 by authorities in Henry County, Georgia.

Authorities in Georgia believe Hayes and Phillips stole a 2001 silver Toyota Tundra with a Georgia certified firefighter license plate near the area where the Tacoma was found. The license plate number on the Tundra is  CF116I.  Police said the vehicle had a .45 caliber handgun and a .38 special handgun inside at the time of the theft.

Hayes and Phillips were seen on Jan. 12 at a Walmart store in Manning, SC, said Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins.

Police said Phillips is 5'1'' and weighs 100 pounds with blonde hair and hazel eyes. She was wearing a black long-sleeve shirt, black sweat pants and brown and pink cowboy boots in South Carolina, Chaffins said.

Hayes is 5'10'' and weighs 175 to 180 pounds. He has brown hair – styled either in a buzz cut or a shaved head - and hazel eyes. Hayes was wearing light-colored dirty blue jeans, a University of Kentucky Wildcats shirt and black tennis shoes when he was seen in South Carolina.

Anyone who sees Hayes or Phillips is asked to call 911.
