LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – Pictures of people posing with their pit bulls are being used to shine a positive light on the breed.

Louisville Metro Animal Services, the Kentucky Humane Society and Saving Sunny launched the Pit Bull Dogs are Family campaign Wednesday by featuring family photos on 60 TARC buses and billboards.

The goal is to encourage more people to adopt pit bulls and pit bull mixes in our community.

LMAS is also running the Love-A-Bull adoption marathon through Feb. 28. Thanks to a grant from Best Friends all pit bulls and pit mixes can be adopted for $9 during the marathon.
