LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Fund for the Arts celebrated its annual Arts Showcase and Campaign kickoff Tuesday.

More than 1,400 school children and community leaders attended the event at the Brown Theatre. The 2014 campaign brought in $8 million and the 2015 group hopes to raise even more.

Fund for the Arts President and CEO Christen Boone said, “It's the opportunity, for us to do two things. One to celebrate all that this art community has and what we do and to be able to celebrate the diversity we have.”

Fund for the Arts is asking for volunteers and donations to help children in the community gain exposure to the arts.
