LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - By going five years without being arrested, former Kentucky basketball star DeMarcus Cousins won social media on Friday.
Cousins, who's been with the NBA's Sacramento Kings since he was drafted in 2010, had a little fun at the expense of sportswriter Clay Travis on Twitter.
Travis tweeted on Jan. 30, 2010, that "there is a 100% chance that Demarcus Cousins is arrested for something in the next five years. 100%. Write it in stone."
Friday morning, exactly five years after Travis' tweet, Cousins posted a screengrab of that tweet along with the message, "Today's the day!! Let's all show him some love @ClayTravisBGID."
As of Saturday afternoon, Cousins' post had been retweeted nearly 14,000 times and favorited more than 10,000 times. Cousins published the same post on Instagram, where it got more than 22,000 likes and generated more than 2,000 comments.
