Jamie Foxx, Ne-Yo to headline Derby Eve gala at Hermitage Farm

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Jamie Foxx and Ne-Yo are among the first entertainers announced as headliners at a one of several Derby Eve galas scheduled for May 1, 2015.

The hosts of the Hermitage Grand Gala said on Tuesday that Foxx and Ne-Yo will perform for A-list attendees and guests, who will also be treated to a late-night dance party featuring DJ Cassidy.

Laura Lee Brown and Steve Wilson, founders of 21c Museum Hotels, and Junior and Doris Bridgeman will host the gala. Junior Bridgeman, a former University of Louisville and NBA player, is the owner and president of Manna, Inc.

"The Kentucky Derby is a time to celebrate the spirit of horse racing, and we love sharing the magnificence of Kentucky with visitors in the spring time," said Steve Wilson. "We are thrilled to have a fantastic entertainment lineup for our guests and promise more surprises throughout the evening. This is our chance to support great local charities."

Wilson will personally produce the party.

“The Derby is not only the largest annual event in Louisville, but attracts attention from all over the world," said Junior Bridgeman. "Having the partnership and shared creativity with Steve and Laura Lee, we are aiming to host a memorable and charitable Derby event. The Gala will have a star-studded guest list and amazing entertainment throughout the evening.”

The Hermitage Grand Gala will take place on the grounds of the historic Hermitage Farm, one of Kentucky's oldest Thoroughbred breeding farms.

According to a news release, the tented, black tie party will welcome 1,500 guests, including top names in entertainment, sports, politics and business. Announcements of the celebrity guest list will be made in the coming months.

Tables for the Hermitage Grand Gala go on sale on Wednesday, Feb. 4 by invitation only. Tickets range in price from $10,000 to $12,000 per table of ten. Interested parties who submitted their information through hermitagegrandgala.com will receive an email invitation that includes reservation and payment information.

The charitable beneficiaries of the Hermitage Grand Gala include The West End School, Kentucky School of Art, the Cardinal Covenant Scholarship at the University of Louisville, Kosair Children's Hospital Foundation and The University of Louisville Autism Center.
