KDF adds Cinco de Mayo celebration to event lineup

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisvillians can shake off their Kentucky Derby hangovers and head down to Fourth Street Live! to celebrate Cinco de Mayo a little early this year.

The Mayor's Office for Globalization's Louisville Latino Council announced Wednesday the bash is now an official Kentucky Derby Festival event.

The family-friendly celebration begins at 2 p.m. on May 3, and will be billed as the biggest Hispanic/Latino event in the state.

In addition to kid-friendly happenings such as face-painting and a pinata competition in the afternoon, dance performances and a battle of Latino bands will highlight the evening hours of the party that is scheduled to last until 9 p.m.

Visit the CincoAt4thSt.org for more information on the event, or KDF.org for more about the Kentucky Derby Festival.
