Bellarmine moves up to #2 in the nation

Knights up a spot to 2nd in NABC, media polls

2/24/2015 | Men's Basketball

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--The Bellarmine University men's basketball team moved up one spot to No. 2 in this week's NABC Divsion II Coaches Poll and the National Divsion II Media Poll. The Knights completed a week in which they went 2-0 including a victory over a ranked opponent.

The Knights moved up after second-ranked Augustana was upset by Winona State last week. Behind Bellarmine in the polls, Barry University also suffered an upset to slip out of the top five.

Florida Southern remains atop both polls with Bellarmine and Lincoln Memorial being a consensus 2-3. After that, the polls differ but contain the same 10 teams in the top 10 with the seven other schools being Augustana, Tarleton State, West Liberty, Minnesota State-Moorhead, Wisconsin-Parkside, Barry, and Mount Olive.

In addition to Bellarmine and Wisconsin-Parkside, other Midwest Region teams in the polls include: Indianapolis (No. 16, NABC; No. 17 Media) and Lake Superior State (No. 16, Media; No. 17, NABC).
